After pick-up at your accomodation you will be driven out to the dog yard in Advent Valley. During the trip the guide will give you an introduction to the history and point out special sites in the area.

Upon arrival at the kennels the dogs will greet you, all hoping to be chosen to join you on the tour! These specially trained dogs are very friendly to both well-known friends and strangers. Most of the time there are pups at the kennels too!

We will select 12 dogs to pull our wagon we will drive back past Longyearbyen and along the Adventfjord to Hotellneset.Here we harness the dogs to the wagon, which seats up to 8 people. The guides will demonstrate the harnessing process, and if you wish, you are welcome to try harnessing your own dog!

When all of the dogs are harnessed and ready, the trip will begin, taking you along the coast and into 'Bjørndalen', the Bear Valley. Keep your eyes open, as along the way you may see reindeer, polar foxes and seals. If you are lucky you may also spot whales and walruses. Above your heads you will see flocks of auks nesting on the steep cliffsides. 

In Bjørndalen there will be a short break, so that you can watch and listen to the auks on the birdcliffs, enjoy the views of glaciers on the other side of the Isfjord and into Bjørndalen. Your guides will prepare warm drinks and snacks during this stop, before turning the dogs back towards Longyearbyen. 

Along the route the guide will tell you about the history, natural wonders and geology of the area.
