Join us on a trip where we hunting fossils at Deltaneset. The fossil hunting will take place in the same area as where Øglegraverne, a team from the Natural History Museum in Oslo, have during  their excavations the previous years, uncovered three specimens of prehistoric reptiles - two Plesiosaurs and one Ichthyosaur.

We will pick you up at your accommodation, brief you and dress you up in floating suits before we head out in an open Polarcirkel boat to Deltaneset. From the shore we will have an easy hike for approximately one hour up to 200 metres over sea level, where we will start to look for fossils.

Before returning to the boat and back to Longyearbyen, we'll have a light meal and a hot drink.

The boats are quite small and you may experience some bumpy seas and sea spray. The safari is not recommended for people with back problems or pregnant women. The safari may be changed due to weather conditions. All participants are requested to dress warmly, wear hiking boots and a hat and mittens.
