You would think it would be very cold living on an island situated between the Norwegian mainland and the North Pole, but it is not. Svalbard has, thanks to the Gulf Stream, a surprisingly mild climate. The winters are dark and magical. It is difficult to experience everything unless you live here for a year, but you can definitely make the most of the days you are here.
