MS Nordstjernen: Hamburg to Spitsbergen

Norwegian Fjords and Spitsbergen - An Arctic Adventure to the High North.

See several highlights of the wonderful Norwegian coast

We start in Hamburg, sailing north to the North Cape and exploring several fjords along the Norwegian coast along the way, including the stunning Lysefjord and the famous Hardangerfjord. Discover beautiful Flåm, surrounded by steep mountains, roaring waterfalls and deep valleys.

Visit the Flåm Railway for a train journey that offers the opportunity to see some of Norway’s wildest and most magnificent scenery. Nærøyfjord boasts stunning views of steep snow-capped mountains, wild waterfalls and impressive landscapes where tiny farms cling to the mountainsides. The Geirangerfjord is considered to be the most beautiful fjord in the world, and the scenery will take your breath away.

After seeing Ålesund’s beautiful Art Nouveau architecture, Trondheim's Nidaros Cathedral and a traditional fishing village in Lofoten, we visit Tromsø, the Gateway to the Arctic. Then, we sail around Europe’s northernmost point, the North Cape, as we head for Svalbard.

An amazing Spitsbergen experience

We spend a day crossing the Barents Sea to Spitsbergen, where we will explore three of the island's most interesting settlements: Longyearbyen, Barentsburg and Ny-Ålesund. You will also have ample time to enjoy the Arctic wilderness along the west coast. See magnificent fjords, majestic mountains and impressive wilderness inhabited only by birds, seals, walruses and polar bears. Two of the highlights are Magdalenefjord and Moffen at 80° North.
